And if you_re someone who would like a celebrity face to attach to the disaster, here_s an unlikely one for you: Sir Richard Branson. The billionaire behind Virgin recently shared a series of blog posts and tweets detailing Irma_s destruction of the British Virgin Islands, including his Necker Island home. He remains in the region mobilizing aid efforts, and I_ll just say I_m glad he_s got deep pockets As if all that weren_t enough, we may still have to deal with Hurricane Jose Though any potential hit shouldn_t come until next week, long-range weather models give it a 1 in 4 chance of landing in the U.S., a 1 in 4 chance of landing in Canada, and a 1 in 2 chance of remaining at sea. The small silver lining is if Jose hits anywhere from South Carolina to Newfoundland, it_s expected to have diminished to a Category 1 Hurricane with ONLY 90 mile per hour winds.
