The RIDICULOUS amount of money CEOs are making and how it PALES in comparison to the average worker. I know that disparity is cause for concern to many but just how bad is it? Oh it_s bad all right and it_s only getting worse here_s the story. The AFL-CIO_s annual Paywatch report says that in 2015 CEOs of S & P 500 companies made on average 12-POINT-4 MILLION DOLLARS. That amount comes out to 335 TIMES what was paid to an average worker and over 800 times what people on minimum wage would make Back in the nineties that ratio was just 100 times more then the average worker. And if that wasn_t enough of a slap in the face it turns out CEOs are also rewarded for avoiding taxes Chief Execs of many companies who moved profits overseas received salaries 79 PERCENT HIGHER than the other CEOs But in a bit of GOOD news for workers an updated rule is expected to make over 4 million American workers eligible for overtime The new rule unveiled by the Obama administration will raise the salary threshold at which people are eligible for overtime pay from about 24 thousand dollars to almost 48 thousand. That change means about 35 percent of full-time salaried workers will be eligible up from only 7 percent. This is the first time the threshold has been updated since 2004 And in the may not have a job anytime soon category a congressional candidate is in hot water after a screen capture included in a Facebook post seemed to reveal his porn habits. Mike Webb is a conservative running as an independent in Virginia_s eighth district. The Facebook post which mentioned his congressional run also included a snapshot of his web browser. Clearly visible in it were tabs with the titles Ivone Sexy Amateur and Layla Rivera Tight. Pretty bad though as one Facebook user pointed out the most embarrassing part may be that he was still using Yahoo We_ll be right back.
