Angie Russian Ukrainian German and French leaders are set to meet in Belarus Wednesday to discuss an end to the conflict in eastern Ukraine. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has been leading the charge for peace talks and officials from the four nations held a telephone conference on Sunday. Western powers accuse Russia of arming rebel forces and sending troops to the region - charges Moscow has repeatedly denied. It was a dramatic day in Australia as Prime Minister Tony Abbott survived a surprising vote aimed at booting him from office His ruling Liberal Party has been plagued by infighting in recent weeks. On Monday a secret party room ballot was launched calling for his dismissal. Abbott managed to win the vote by a 61 to 39 margin but pundits say his grip on power has taken a significant blow. And British bank HSBC is under a fresh round of scrutiny for helping thousands of wealthy clients evade tax payments and hide millions in assets. New documents provided by a former HSBC employee show the bank helped shelter dictators arm dealers and various other criminals. The bank says its Swiss branch - which was acquired in 1999 - was not fully integrated into HSBC and had significantly lower standards of due diligence. HSBC now faces criminal investigations in four countries: the US Belgium France and Argentina. We_ll be right back.
