Those killjoys ruin everything, don_t they What ever happened to blissful ignorance?Yeah well, skyrocketing obesity rates is what happened So the FDA wants to give us the information we need to make healthier choices. Here_s the story. Welcome to the Naked Foodie. Under current food labeling rules, sugar content is included by weight - the number of grams per serving. The FDA now wants to require percentage of recommended daily intake, as it does with sodium, fiber, cholesterol, and fat. Federal Guidelines suggest that sugar make up ten percent or less of people_s daily calories. This new proposal would make it much more simple for people to meet that guideline.In other foodie news, first there was a pizza box that turned into a movie projector. Now, there_s a bucket of chicken that turns into a printer To celebrate KFC_s 60th anniversary in Canada, the chain has invented the Memories Bucket. It lets you print out your finger-lickin_ photos, on the spot, via your phone_s Bluetooth connection. KFC will be giving some of the limited-edition buckets away.You might have heard of the Boomstick hot dog served at Texas Rangers baseball games. But until now, unless you were at the ballpark, you probably haven_t actually SEEN one of the colossal treats. I_m about to change that Check it out. That_s a two-foot beef weiner thickly slathered with chili, nacho cheese, and grilled onions. All told, it weighs three full pounds and costs twenty-six dollars. Well worth whatever stomach issues it may cause. America_s NEW favorite healthy fast food restaurant is... Chipotle Despite its average meal being over a thousand calories, the Mexican chain_s use of fresh, natural, less-processed foods puts them in the healthy category to most consumers. Particularly millennials, who are more concerned about avoiding antibiotics and GMOs than calories. Chipotle took the top spot over Subway, whose sales are dropping at the fastest rate of any of the big fast-food chains.And finally, Whole Foods was roundly mocked on social media after customers spotted asparagus water on the shelf of a Brentwood, California, store. It was literally bottled water with three stalks of raw asparagus in it - priced at five ninety-nine. Whole Foods released a statement saying the product was actually SUPPOSED to be a vegetable-essence broth, but it was made incorrectly. Personally, I_m not buying it.
