This year_s big winners include The Associated Press for their series on slave labor in South East Asia_s fishing industry. The coverage helped free more than 2 THOUSAND captive workers. The Washington Post scored for its in-depth look at police killings while the New York Times picked up an award for its reporting on ISIS. Despite the stellar efforts highlighted by the Pulitzers a new survey shows the public_s trust in the media has fallen to an all-time low Only 6 PERCENT of Americans say they have a great deal of confidence in the press. The poll from the Media Insight Project reports that only about half of us have SOME confidence while a whopping 41 percent said they had hardly ANY confidence. So what would it take to restore out faith in news outlets? The most commonly cited concepts we value in media reporting were fairness balance accuracy and completeness. And finally porn is very very bad for you at least according to the state of Utah Republican Governor Gary Herbert signed a new resolution into law on Tuesday declaring pornography a public HEALTH crisis The measure doesn_t BAN the use of porn but instead recognizes the need for education and prevention due to porn_s so-called detrimental effects. Considering a recent survey named Utah residents as the BIGGEST consumers of adult film in the country it may not have that much of an impact We_ll be right back.
