But first let_s say hello to Kat Curtis with the latest online buzz beginning with an UPLIFTING story out of Canada.That_s right Peyton a Calgary man pulled a ridiculous PR stunt that everyone is talking about right now it was kinda like watching Up 2.It was definitely daring but it was also incredibly stupid.That may be true but he certainly accomplished his goal of getting some publicity out of it and THEN some THIS is what_s TRENDING NOW Check out this INSANE video of a Calgary man flying high in the sky in a twenty dollar lawn chair attached to 20-thousand dollars_ worth of large helium-filled balloons. No this is NOT a joke. 26-year old Daniel Boria pulled the stunt to promote his cleaning products company. Boria planned on using his parachute to land at the Calgary Stampede fairgrounds but was blown off course and instead landed in a field a few miles away. Police were waiting for him when he landed and he_s been charged with one count of mischief. No doubt Borea feels like the night he spent in jail was well worth the publicity he received. There_s trouble a-brewin_ on Reddit So far more than 200-thousand Redditors have signed an online petition calling for the resignation of Ellen Pao the site_s interim chief executive. The reason? Ms. Pao gave the heave-ho to Victoria Taylor the uber-popular director of talent behind the site_s well-known Ask Me Anything subreddit. As retaliation hundreds of other subreddit pages on topics including science gaming history and cinema were shut down in protest. Now a petition at Change.org has garnered hundreds of thousands of signatures to see Pao removed before she destroys the Reddit community. Speaking of protests here_s one that_s a bit more visual in nature. These jarring photos have been shared thousands of times on Facebook and Twitter. They_re aimed at stopping Spain_s annual running of the bulls which began on Monday at the famous San Fermin festival in Pamplona. Hundreds of animal activists - many from PETA - lay down outside the entrance to the Pamplona bullring painted red or wearing horns. They say the practice abuses and harms bulls which is kinda hard to argue. The US destroyed Japan at the Women_s World Cup and now the two nations will clash in a much HIGHER-stakes battle GIANT ROBOTS. Japanese robotics company Suidobashi Heavy Industries has accepted an invite from America_s MegaBots which was put out via viral video. Suidobashi wasn_t intimidated by the American firepower. The company_s founder says giant robots are a key part of Japanese culture. Which okay kinda weird but sure. He also promised to up the ante. No word yet on WHEN this awesome robot clash will happen but we will definitely keep you postedAnd if you_ve been on Twitter this week you may have noticed that the site_s now asking for your birthday info. The site_s trying to lure users in by promising to send them animated balloons on their big day which sounds pretty great. But the REAL reason is to figure out what demographic you fit into so they know which ads to place in your feed No such thing as a free lunch OR digital birthday balloons apparently. Pretty sneaky.
