First up though the days headlines with Peyton Priestly and more bad news for VOLKSWAGEN. California has rejected Volkswagen_s plans for a state-wide recall of vehicles affected by the emissions testing scandal. Officials said that Volkswagen_s proposal did not provide enough information on how the recall would be carried out or how the fix would affect future emissions testing. The US Environmental Protection Agency released its own statement saying that it backed California_s decision. Volkswagen said that they would continue to work with US officials to find a resolution. The Royal Bank of Scotland is in panic mode advising clients to sell everything ahead of what it predicts will be a cataclysmic year for financial markets The bank_s credit chief Andrew Roberts cited falling oil prices volatility in China and rising debt as a few of the major warning signs of impending doom. His warning even includes a comparison of current market trends to what it was like pre-2008 just before the collapse of Lehman Brothers. And he may have a point as far as the price of oil is concerned. Oil continues to plummet on the open market with cost of a barrel sinking below thirty dollars for the first time since 2003. Prices have fallen 72 percent in the last 19 months. Experts are warning that it could get worse before it gets better with oversupply reduced demand in China plus a strong US dollar all working together to create the perfect storm for further drops.
