I hear it was a pretty easy choice this week Angie.We always have a few candidates in the mix Kat but this week one stood head and shoulders above the pack - in all the worst ways The members of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at the University of Oklahoma. They shamed themselves and everyone else associated with the national fraternity - and the University of Oklahoma. In case you missed it a video came to light a few days ago capturing SAE frat members singing a racist song about when black people might be invited to pledge. Spoiler alert - the answer is never. So yeah. That_s a thing that happened. IN 2015 The source of the shameful 9-second video is unknown but he or she obviously didn_t approve because the vid was passed on to a campus equality group called Unheard. THEY posted it online and it_s made headlines around the world - and rightfully so. You might expect this type of slimy behaviour at a Klan rally but not with supposedly well-educated college kids. As you_d expect the backlash around all this has been fierce. SAE denounced the actions of the Oklahoma chapter apologized and promised to investigate the incident. But that was hardly enough to satisfy most people. OU has dropped the hammer on the frat booting the racist bums from their on-campus house and completely severing ties with SAE. Two of the frat members have been expelled. And to make matters worse another video surfaced this week featuring SAE_s 79-year old house mother. She_d claimed she had no idea the boys in her frat sang songs like that. But the new video says otherwise. It shows her drunk and repeatedly chanting the n-word. Wow what a charming bunchFallout from the video scandal is likely far from over. The OU campus has seen a number of demonstrations against racism this past week. The school_s famous football team even skipped a practice to take part in a protest walking-arm-in-arm while wearing all black. The controversy has even cost the team a top-ranked recruit who changed his mind about being a Sooner. As if the SAE clowns weren_t already hated enough on campus now they_re messing with the school_s famous football program. Hi Eila Apple_s unstoppable quest for world domination is going well. They topped earnings estimates AGAIN and the stock in heading higher. If I would have only brought that thing when I was told to YEARS ago I_d be rich now You and me both There_s no escaping Apple_s all-conquering gadgets Here_s the story. Apple recorded a record second quarter ending March 28. They posted a mind boggling 58 billion in revenue and made 13.6 billion in profit. This is for THREE MONTHS PEOPLE Apple also now has a ridiculous 193.5 billion dollars of cash on hand. That_s more then goggle and Microsoft COMBINED Leading the charge was of course the Apple iPhone. They sold an astounding 61 million of them mostly in China. The only downside for the tech giant is the declining sales of the iPad although they still managed to sell more than 12 million in three months. Apple watch sales will be figured into their CURRENT quarter. Google is also trying to increase its stranglehold on the world of technology. The search giant wants to buy your innovative patents. Between May 8 and May 22 Google will allow patent holders to describe their patents and name a price theyd be willing to sell them for. Then over the summer Google will review the submissions and buy some of the patents. This is Googles attempt to clean up the chaos of the American patent system. It_s estimated that _patent trolls_ cost inventors up to 2.5 billion dollars a year by suing them for infringement.And in media news NBC executives have allegedly leaked details of their Brian Williams investigation in the hopes that by further disgracing the long time newsman he_ll resign and take a massive payout. The internal investigation - which we reported on Monday - found Williams lied at least ELEVEN times about his experiences as a war correspondent. Chiefs at NBC are apparently prepared to hand the former Nightly News anchor a golden parachute severance package of 20 to 30 million dollars if he walks. We_ll be right back.

While making an appearance in Dubai recently Paris Hilton fell victim to one of the nastiest TV pranks we_ve ever seen Egyptian actor Ramez Galal host of a show called Ramez in Control invited her on an aerial tour of the city. But what he DIDN_T tell her was that he_d instructed the pilot to fake a plane crash She actually thought she was done Have a look. Pretty scary right? Paris was so upset by the stunt that she_s decided to sue everyone involved for emotional distress. We think she_s got a pretty strong caseAmy Schumer is one of Hollywood_s hottest comics right now and it_s partly thanks to the job she DIDN_T take. When Jon Stewart announced he was leaving the Daily Show Amy was on Comedy Central_s shortlist of candidates to replace him. But in a new interview with the New York Times she reveals she didn_t take the gig because she didn_t want to make a safe choice. It sure looks like her intuition paid off. Amy_s stock is skyrocketing and she_s got a starring role in Judd Apatow_s latest comedy Trainwreck which critics are already calling the year_s best comedy. Speaking of trainwrecks the BET Awards are always a mess but this year_s show was especially hilarious - for all the wrong reasons The biggest on-stage goof of the night award goes to P Diddy who fell through a hole in the stage. Oooh that couldn_t have felt too good. Then there_s Rihanna who wanted to shower fans with cash while previewing the new video for her single Bitch Better Have My Money. But BET President of Programming Stephen Hill wasn_t having it and the cameras caught the backstage moment when Rihanna threw a stack of bills right in his face Ri-Ri did NOT look happy And last but not least we_ve got Nicki Minaj who capped the night off with an acceptance speech for the ages. After Heath Ledger_s Oscar-winning performance it_s no secret that Jared Leto has some BIG shoes to fill as the new Joker. But based on early reports he_s taking things to a whole other level Leto was frequently absent during the film_s early prep but he sent his Suicide Squad co-stars some special gifts to let them know he was staying in character Margot Robbie received a love letter with a black box containing a LIVE RAT inside Will Smith got some bullets with a letter and Leto also sent the cast a dead hog and a special video. The actors say Leto was playing the Joker in the vid and his twisted take on the villain blew them away And Jeremy Clarkson_s final episode of Top Gear finally aired to mixed reviews this week. The 75-minute special featured co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond in an empty studio accompanied by a plastic elephant named Jeremy. Get it? The ELEPHANT in the room? Anyway some critics loved the final broadcast saying it was like watching a beloved band_s final concert. Others weren_t so impressed saying the show was past its prime and as worn out as a bald tyre. If you loved Top Gear don_t worry this isn_t the last we_ve seen of Clarkson and the boys. Right now though Carli Bei has the news that EVERYONE is talking about including details on a deadly bacteria outbreak in Louisiana. Here she is with a NN Bulletin. A lethal type of bacteria that lives in soil and water has been released from the Tulane National Primate Research Center in Louisiana. Thing is after weeks of investigating authorities still aren_t sure HOW the deadly strain was released from the high-security lab. Officials stress there is no risk to the public. Researchers at the lab - located 35 miles north of New Orleans - had been working on a vaccine to combat the bacteria. California border authorities made one of the biggest marijuana busts in US history last week. A truck claiming to be carrying pillows and mattresses was found stashed with 15 tons of pot. Customs and Border Police at the checkpoint ordered the truck into a cargo bay for X-rays and then found the haul. The truck was packed from floor to ceiling with the illicit cargo which carried an estimated street value close to 20 million dollars. And a sketch broadcast on this weekend_s edition of Saturday Night Live has sparked MAJOR controversy online. It featured host Dakota Johnson playing a young woman being dropped off at the airport by her father played by Taran Killam. Have a look.Perhaps not too surprisingly a sketch about a father dropping his daughter off to join ISIS militants didn_t go over too well with the general public. While the studio audience found the bit funny the Twitterverse was not amused. The ISIS-inspired bit outraged many who feel SNL took things too far. I_m Carli Bei. Don_t go away.

Among those that_ll be featured are Lily Aldridge Candace Swanepoel Martha Hunt and Behati Prinsloo. Prinsloo_s husband Adam Levine and his band Maroon 5 will perform on the special along with Colombian superstar Juanes. The special will air on Thursday February 26.They_re calling SEX BOX the boldest show on television and for once that may not just be marketing hype. The show involves couples having counseling immediately after having SEX in a BOX right there in the studio There are no cameras IN the box but right after doing the deed couples face a sex therapist and a couples counselor plus a live studio audience. The premise is that couples will be more open to honest talk right after sex. In the midst of a devastating winter storm TWO separate oil tankers are ripped apart leaving both crews just hours from death. When the call from the FIRST ship comes in the main coast guard team heads to their rescue. Unfortunately that means that when the SECOND ship calls for help there are just 4 novices and a single 36-foot lifeboat remaining. Some might call it a suicide mission but for these honor-bound men risking their lives is just another part of the job. The dialogue comes across as corny and predictable at times-hey this IS a Disney film after all Once our heroes hit the water we really start to really feel the tension and then it_s FULL SPEED AHEAD to an action-packed climax. The Finest Hours is out now. It might SOUND like a follow-up to last year_s sexy smash hit but Fifty Shades of BLACK is more likely to tickle your FUNNY bone than any other body part. The parody comes from the warped mind of comedian Marlon Wayans-he wrote it AND takes top billing as the mysterious Christian Black. If you thought the original Fifty Shades was filthy you ain_t seen nothin_ yet From f-bombs to raunchy jokes to explicit sex scenes this movie MORE than earns it_s R rating. And while it_s not exactly high-brow satire it does a good job of reminding us not to take the whole Fifty Shades mania too seriously. Check it out in theaters everywhere. Let_s get right into the headlines courtesy of our very own Katherine Curtis who_s got some surprising new info on American oil production.As we all know Eila crude oil prices have TANKED over the last little while but that hasn_t stopped American companies from producing at RECORD levels The US oil industry is projected to produce a RECORD amount of oil this year. And the thing is you couldn_t pick a stranger time to have a record-breaking year. Oil prices have fallen from over a hundred dollars a barrel last summer to about fifty this year. A big reason for the production surge is the delay between when oil wells are drilled and when they start pumping oil which can take up to a year. That means the recent declines in the industry haven_t been felt yet on the production side of things.Saudi Arabia is spending more than ever on its military. The country_s military budget grew by 17-percent in 2014 to 80.8 billion dollars. It marks the biggest jump among the world_s top defense spenders. The increase reflects the volatility in the Middle East. But when it comes to over-ALL spending the US is still far and away the global leader. Their bill totaled 610 billion dollars last year. The Gap Sears and Target are among 13 major US retailers being investigated in New York for how they schedule their hourly workers. Attorney general Eric Schneiderman has asked them all for details on the companies_ use of on-call shifts. It_s a growing trend that allows stores to have more staff when it_s busy and fewer when times are slow. Employees are often told whether they_ll be working just hours before the start of a shift making it difficult for them to manage family life like child care. I_m Katherine Curtis we_ll be right back

Eila the verdict is in and it_s GOOD NEWS for Erin Andrews The sportscaster has been awarded 55 MILLION dollars in damages in her civil suit against stalker Michael Barrett and the owners of the Marriott where she was staying. The jury placed 51 percent of the blame on Barrett for videotaping Andrews through her hotel room peephole and 49 percent against two hotel companies for failing to protect her privacy. Andrews tweeted a thank you message to her supporters after the verdict was read out. The US Supreme Court has REJECTED a bid by Apple to overturn charges of price fixing The tech giant was found guilty in 2015 of conspiring with publishers to inflate the price of e-books. The allegations date back to 2009 when the company was trying to break the stranglehold Amazon had over the e-book market at the time. Apple will have to fork over 400 million dollars in damages to customers and another 50 million in legal fees. And think your Mac computer is safer than a PC? Think again Security experts raised the alarm over the weekend that APPLE users are now being targeted by hackers using RANSOMWARE. Once it infects your computer the malicious software encrypts your data and then asks that users pay a bribe to get access restored. The scam is estimated to cost Windows users hundreds of millions of dollars a year but this is the first time it_s been detected on Apple_s operating system. We_ll be right back.
